As a part-time student, you will complete your academic coursework (27 hours) at your own pace. You can take 1-5 courses per semester and may take them in any sequence. You have five years (10 semesters) to complete the degree requirements (including the internship) and must maintain continuous enrollment (take at least one course during each semester) during that time. If you are not continuously enrolled you will have to re-apply for admission.
Internship for part-time students
Once you have completed 75% of your coursework, you may begin your part-time internship. Internships may only being in the fall semester, and you must also be enrolled in the accompanying internship seminar.
The minimum internship requirement is 360 hours per year (about 180 hours per semester).
If you are seeking North Carolina licensure, you will also complete a series of artifacts that are aligned with the state’s school executive standards. These artifacts are compiled to form an electronic portfolio that is submitted to the state’s licensure division for review.
