DESCRIPTION:The Ida B. Wells Symposia\, a series of talks sponsored by the Center for the Study of the American South\, is holding a series of events during the month of October. \nOn October 29th at 6pm\, SoE doctoral students Cortland Gilliam and Jerry J. Wilson along with undergraduate De’Ivyion Drew\, will overview the genesis and development of their #BlackOutLoudUNC arts exhibition project and then discuss the project’s relationship to the anti-lynching work of Ida B. Wells. In addition to a discussion of their work\, the presentation will include a screening of their short documentary and photography of some of the work showcased on the night of the original exhibition (9/25/2019).
