Li Ke was a high school chemistry teacher in China before coming to the U.S. in 2010 to pursue his master and Ph.D. degrees in the area of science education. Li Ke’s research centers around promoting meaningful science learning among all learners. In particular, Li Ke is interested in how teachers can support students in engaging in scientific practices such as scientific modeling in a way that is meaningful to both the discipline of science and to the classroom knowledge building community. At UNC, Li Ke is working with Dr. Troy Sadler on his projects related to promoting students’ scientific literacy through modeling in the context of socio-scientific issues.
