Abbreviated Position Summary

The School of Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks an experienced scholar to serve as the inaugural program director for the newly created bachelor’s degree program in Human Organizational Leadership and Development (HOLD). The HOLD program director will play a central role in the administration, coordination and teaching, as well as growth of the program. This is a fixed-term, full-time 12-month appointment at the Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank. The start date is July 1, 2021.

Educational Requirements: An earned doctorate degree in Business, Education, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Health, Sociology or a related discipline is required. Recent professional experience in organizational leadership and development is highly preferred.

Qualifications and Experience: The position requires experience putting multidisciplinary theoretical and research backgrounds into practice in the nonprofit sector and learning-oriented businesses. Successful candidates will have professional experience in human capital development in nonprofit, community, or business settings; a demonstrated ability to draw connections between social science research and the practice of organizational or community development; experience teaching and leading in a higher education setting; as well as the ability to build and nurture relationships with a wide network of organizations where program graduates would intern and possibly work.
