Background
Joi Artis is a Research Coordinator/Interventionist with the Building Resilience in Teens through Education (BRITE) trial team here at UNC Chapel Hill. She is originally from Greensboro, NC, and recently completed a Master of Science in Research Psychology at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
She has a deep passion for research, education, and mental health. Her research interests focus on non-suicidal self-injury, stress, trauma, and coping processes in adolescents and young adults. Her broader research experiences include topics such as depression, animal-assisted therapy, trauma, self-injury, and mental health content on social media platforms.
Outside of her professional and academic work, she enjoys reading and spending time with loved ones.
