Biography

Susan J. Davis, Ed.D., is a former school counselor, district leader, and current postdoctoral researcher whose career has centered on student well-being, equity, and the power of relationships in education. She began her professional journey as a school counselor and later led systemic social-emotional learning (SEL) implementation efforts across a large public school district. Motivated by the intersection of educational leadership and community-driven change, her research now focuses on how family, school, and community partnerships shape the implementation of mindfulness-based and SEL programs. Drawing from her practitioner experience and leadership roles, she is passionate about bridging research and practice to support culturally responsive, sustainable systems that foster thriving school climates.
