Alumna Lisa Worthington-Groce (M.A.T. ’04) has won the 2019 Southern Conference on Language Teaching’s Teacher of the Year Award.
Worthington-Groce, who teaches German at Northwest Guilford High School in Greensboro, goes on to compete against four othe regional finalists for the title of National Language Teacher of the Year of 2020, to be awarded in November.
Worthington-Groce previously had won the national American Association of Teachers of German and the Foreign Language Association of North Carolina’s Teacher of the Year K-12, both in 2018.
She has taught at Northwest Guilford High School since 2006, and has been a German teacher since 2003.
