About the Principal License

A North Carolina School Administrator – Superintendent License falls under the requirements for School-Based Administrators and Special Services Personnel.

Once you have completed the Ed.D. program requirements and portfolio artifacts, you will be eligible to apply for a School Administrator – Superintendent License, adding it to your current Professional Educator’s Continuing License.

We encourage all Ed.D. candidates who do not currently hold a North Carolina Principal License to become licensed during their studies by taking an additional three courses from our MSA program. Contact your advisor to discuss this option.
