Background

Alena Brown serves as the Director of Donor Relations and Annual Giving at the UNC School of Education. She earned a Master of Arts in Management from Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy. Prior to joining UNC, Alena was the Director of the Annual Fund at Colorado Academy, where she successfully raised over $2 million annually. Her tenure at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello involved overseeing the processing and acknowledgment of $8–9 million in annual donations and managing the foundation’s donor database. Alena’s expertise in data analytics and database management has been instrumental in informing donor acquisition and cultivation strategies throughout her career.
