Background

Dr. Carrol Warren is the director of the Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership and Learning distance graduate program. She appreciates engaging with students and colleagues who seek opportunities to bridge connections between theory and practice. Her expertise lies within generating strategies to foster student success in alignment with the vision and goals of the university. Dr. Warren’s leadership style is grounded in design thinking principles and she relies upon user-centric solutions to foster a culture of continuous improvement. She enjoys cultivating partnerships that encompass opportunities for students to build their network and establish connections with mentors. Dr. Warren’s background in counseling and distance education administration allows her to contribute to meaningful projects that promote collaborative engagement. In previous roles she launched an Executive Mentoring program for Ed.D. students at North Carolina State University, as well as a university-wide faculty mentoring program. She also served as PI and program director of a federally funded grant which provided opportunities for students to achieve their goals in higher education. With a combination of roles incorporating administration, counseling, and teaching, Dr. Warren is committed to transforming the landscape of distance education.

Research

Dr. Warren’s research centers within three main areas: organizational leadership, distance education administration, and change management. She has contributed to research efforts on crisis intervention and the impact on organizational change, instructional technologies and the incorporation of blended design, and faculty development in higher education.
