Eliz Colbert (B.A. ’86, M.Ed. ’94) has been selected to serve as the executive director of the North Carolina Public Virtual School.
Colbert joined the NCVPS in 2013 as chief of outreach and support, then becoming chief of operations. Prior to joining the NCVPS, Colbert served for nine years as a school principal and has worked in professional learning for the Wake County Public Schools and with the N.C. Department of Public Instruction.
In addition to her Carolina degrees, Colbert earned a doctorate from Teachers College at Columbia University.
Colbert serves the School of Education on its Alumni Council.
