US News ranks four School of Education programs among highest in their disciplines

Four School of Education programs were ranked among the top 16 in their fields in graduate school rankings published today by US News & World Report.

The Schools’ ranked specialty programs:
Curriculum and Instruction: 14th
Education Administration and Supervision: 13th
Elementary Teacher Education: 16th (tie)
Special Education: 13th

The magazine released its rankings in its annual “Best Grad Schools” guide. The magazine ranked the School of Education at 37th overall, down from 34th last year, among the 278 schools that grant doctoral degrees in education.

Two of the four School of Education specialty programs rose in the rankings this year: Curriculum and Instruction was up two spots from 16th last year, while Elementary Teacher Education was not included in the specialty rankings last year. Education Administration and Supervision was unchanged at 13th. Special Education was down one position from the 12th rank last year.
