Application Process

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks individuals who have a genuine interest in leadership and who are passionate about empowering people in their organization. Applicants to the UNC School of Education’s Ed.D. in Organizational Learning and Leadership program must have earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0. For applicants who earned an undergraduate GPA of less than 3.0, an explanation will need to accompany their application. It is expected that applicants will have three years of experience in management or leadership roles in a professional work setting. Applicants are responsible for monitoring their application status and ensuring their application is complete.

Admissions Requirements

The program offers three start dates per year in January, May, and August. In addition to completing all fields of the online application form, applications also must include:

  • Application fee (non-refundable $95); Application fee waivers may be available
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Transcripts from all universities and colleges attended
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Statement of purpose (750 words maximum)
  • Resume/CV
  • Official TOEFL/IELTS scores (International students only, must be valid within the last two years)
